Impacting the Lives of Rural Women with Coca-Cola Gira Mujeres
If you should know anything about Bridge for Billions, it’s that our overarching goal is to democratize entrepreneurship. We want anyone who has an idea for a business, especially those with a positive social impact, to have the opportunity to make their business come to life — no matter where in the world they may be from. And it’s with that singular vision in mind that we seek out partnerships with organizations that can help us reach a broader audience of people who can benefit from our platform.
We teamed up with Coca-Cola to create an entrepreneurship program that would break the barriers that limit the entrepreneurial capacity of women in rural areas. That program: Gira Mujeres.
During the program, the entrepreneurs learned about such topics as:
Idea and strategy
How to sell their product/service
Human resources and legal issues
How to scale their business
How to finance their venture
How to pitch their business plan
Being an entrepreneur can come with many challenges, but women in particular can run into a unique set of problems in what has traditionally been a male-dominated space. And while it is true that significant progress has been made in recent years, there is still a long way to go to eliminate this social gap. Supporting the entrepreneurship and employability of women are two of the main ways to achieve this - and that is what we strive to do in partnership with Coca-Cola. As such, Gira Mujeres participants receive personal and professional training and support for their business idea linked to the food and beverage sector.
